Description

この項では、プレート部材の相対的な平面内角度調整を許容するヒンジ継手を備える例示的な骨プレートについて説明する。図2〜図14B参照(VII項の実施例1および3も参照)。
この項では、互いに非平行である2つまたはそれ以上の平面のうちの各々において一対のプレート部材の相対的な角度方向を調整することを許容する多軸継手を備える例示的な骨プレートを説明する。図15A〜図15Eおよび図16〜図36参照。多軸継手を備える骨プレートのさらなる態様は、VII項など、本明細書の別のところで説明されている(たとえば、実施例4)。

Claims (10)
- 骨を固定するための骨プレートであって、
補完的な嵌合特徴部を介して互いに嵌合する一対のプレート部材であって、前記補完的な嵌合特徴部は(a)前記プレート部材が嵌合したままである間に第1の構成と第2の構成との間でピボット軸の周りの前記プレート部材の相対的な平面内回転を可能にし、(b)前記第1の構成ではなく、前記第2の構成において前記嵌合しているプレート部材の並進分解を防ぎ、各プレート部材が前記プレート部材を骨に結合するために1つまたは複数の留め具を受け入れる1つまたは複数のスルーホールを画定する、一対のプレート部材と、
前記プレート部材のうちの一方に結合され、他方のプレート部材によって画定されるスロット内に貫入するピンとを備え、
前記ピンおよび前記スロットは、前記ピボット軸の周りの前記プレート部材の相対的な回転の許容される範囲を定めて、前記第2の構成から前記第1の構成への前記嵌合したプレート部材の回転を防ぐ、骨プレート。 - 前記プレート部材のうちの1つに結合し、前記ピボット軸の周りの前記プレート部材の
相対的な回転を防ぐように調整可能であるネジ山付き部材をさらに備える、請求項1に記
載の骨プレート。 - 前記プレート部材は、前記ネジ山付き部材とは無関係に互いに永久に接続される、請求
項2に記載の骨プレート。 - 骨プレートを作製する方法であって、
一対のプレート部材を互いに嵌合させるステップであって、前記プレート部材は、前記嵌合したプレート部材が第1の構成と第2の構成との間でピボット軸の周りで相対的に回転可能であり、前記プレート部材は、前記第1の構成ではなく、前記第2の構成において並進分解を防がれるような補完的な特徴部を有する、ステップと、
前記プレート部材が前記第2の構成になっている間、ピンを前記一対のプレート部材のうちの一方のプレート部材に結合し、前記ピンが他方のプレート部材によって画定されるスロット内に貫入して前記嵌合している第2構成から第1構成への前記プレート部材の回転を防ぐ前記プレート部材に対する回転の範囲を確定する、ステップとを含む、方法。 - 嵌合する前記ステップは、前記プレート部材を互いに回転可能に嵌合させるステップを含む、請求項4に記載の方法。
- ピンを結合する前記ステップは、前記一方のプレート部材によって画定される開口部内に前記ピンをプレス嵌めするステップを含む、請求項4または5に記載の方法。
- 嵌合する前記ステップは、前記一対のプレート部材のうちの一方のプレート部材の突起を他方のプレート部材によって画定される陥凹部内に入れるステップを含み、前記突起および前記陥凹部は、嵌合する前記ステップの後に前記ピボット軸に対して互いに対して回転可能である、請求項4から6のうちの何れか一項に記載の方法。
- 嵌合する前記ステップは、突起を入れる前記ステップの後に前記プレート部材を前記ピボット軸の周りで相対的に回転させるステップを含み、これにより、前記一対のプレート部材のうちの一方のプレート部材の軌道は、他方のプレート部材の端部領域と嵌合し、前記端部領域と嵌合している前記軌道は、前記ピボット軸に平行な両方の方向で前記プレート部材が互いから分解するのを防ぐ、請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記軌道および前記端部領域の各々は、前記ピボット軸に直交する平面内でアーチ形である、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記プレート部材を回転させる前記ステップは、第1の軌道を第1の端部領域と、第2の軌道を第2の端部領域と嵌合させるステップを含み、前記ピボット軸は、前記プレート部材を回転させる前記ステップの後に前記第1の軌道および端部領域と前記第2の軌道および端部領域との間に配設される、請求項8または9に記載の方法。
