Description
複数の画素に亘って形成された共通電極と、前記共通電極を覆う絶縁膜と、前記絶縁膜の上において各画素に形成され前記共通電極と向かい合うとともにスリットが形成された画素電極と、を備えた第1基板と、第1方向に沿って延出した第1遮光部及び第1方向に交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第2遮光部を備え前記第1遮光部と前記第2遮光部との交差部において第1方向及び第2方向とは異なる方向に延出した斜辺を有するブラックマトリクスと、前記交差部と重なる位置から前記第1基板に向かって延出した柱状スペーサと、を備えた第2基板と、前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に保持された液晶層と、を備えたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置が提供される。
複数の画素に亘って形成された共通電極と、前記共通電極を覆う絶縁膜と、前記絶縁膜の上において各画素に形成され前記共通電極と向かい合うとともにスリットが形成された画素電極と、を備えた第1基板と、第1方向に沿って延出した第1幅の第1遮光部と、第1方向に交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第2幅の第2遮光部と、前記第1遮光部と前記第2遮光部とを繋ぐとともに前記第1遮光部の末端部から前記第2遮光部のエッジに向かって末広がりとなった第3遮光部と、前記第2遮光部を挟んで一方の側に配置され前記第2遮光部を越えて前記第3遮光部上に延在した第1カラーフィルタと、前記第2遮光部を挟んで他方の側に配置された第2カラーフィルタと、前記第1カラーフィルタ及び前記第2カラーフィルタを覆うオーバーコート層と、前記第3遮光部上に延在した前記第1カラーフィルタと重なる位置から前記第1基板に向かって延出した柱状スペーサと、を備えた第2基板と、前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に保持された液晶層と、を備えたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置が提供される。
複数の画素に亘って形成された共通電極と、前記共通電極を覆う絶縁膜と、前記絶縁膜の上において各画素に形成され前記共通電極と向かい合うとともにスリットが形成された画素電極と、を備えた第1基板と、第1方向に沿って延出した第1遮光部と、第1方向に交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第2遮光部と、前記第1遮光部と前記第2遮光部とが交差する第1交差部及び前記第1交差部よりも小さな面積の第2交差部と、前記第1交差部と重なる位置から前記第1基板に向かって延出した柱状スペーサと、を備えた第2基板と、前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に保持された液晶層と、を備えたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置が提供される。

Claims (15)
- 複数の画素に亘って形成された共通電極と、前記共通電極を覆う絶縁膜と、前記絶縁膜の上において各画素に形成され前記共通電極と向かい合うとともにスリットが形成された画素電極と、を備えた第1基板と、
第1方向に沿って延出した第1遮光部及び第1方向に交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第2遮光部を備え前記第1遮光部と前記第2遮光部の交差部において第1方向及び第2方向とは異なる方向に延出した斜辺を有するブラックマトリクスと、前記交差部と重なる位置から前記第1基板に向かって延出した柱状スペーサと、を備えた第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に保持された液晶層と、
を備え、
前記第2遮光部は、第1方向に並んだ第1色画素と第2色画素との画素境界と重なる位置に配置され、
前記柱状スペーサは、前記交差部において、前記柱状スペーサの一部が前記画素境界上に位置する範囲内で第1方向にオフセットし、
前記第2遮光部上に位置する前記柱状スペーサは、前記画素境界から互い違いにオフセット配置されたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記第2基板は、さらに、前記交差部と前記柱状スペーサとの間に延在したカラーフィルタと、前記カラーフィルタと前記柱状スペーサとの間に延在したオーバーコート層と、を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記カラーフィルタは、赤色カラーフィルタであることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 複数の画素に亘って形成された共通電極と、前記共通電極を覆う絶縁膜と、前記絶縁膜の上において各画素に形成され前記共通電極と向かい合うとともにスリットが形成された画素電極と、を備えた第1基板と、
第1方向に沿って延出した第1幅の第1遮光部と、第1方向に交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第2幅の第2遮光部と、前記第1遮光部と前記第2遮光部とを繋ぐとともに前記第1遮光部の末端部から前記第2遮光部のエッジに向かって末広がりとなった第3遮光部と、前記第2遮光部を挟んで一方の側に配置され前記第2遮光部を越えて前記第3遮光部上に延在した第1カラーフィルタと、前記第2遮光部を挟んで他方の側に配置された第2カラーフィルタと、前記第1カラーフィルタ及び前記第2カラーフィルタを覆うオーバーコート層と、前記第3遮光部上に延在した前記第1カラーフィルタと重なる位置から前記第1基板に向かって延出した柱状スペーサと、を備えた第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に保持された液晶層と、
を備え、
前記第2遮光部は、第1方向に並んだ第1色画素と第2色画素との画素境界と重なる位置に配置され、
前記柱状スペーサは、前記第2遮光部において、前記柱状スペーサの一部が前記画素境界上に位置する範囲内で第1方向にオフセットし、
前記第2遮光部上に位置する前記柱状スペーサは、前記画素境界から互い違いにオフセット配置されたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記第3遮光部は、前記第2遮光部を挟んだ両側に配置されたことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1カラーフィルタは、赤色カラーフィルタであることを特徴とする請求項4または5に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 複数の画素に亘って形成された共通電極と、前記共通電極を覆う絶縁膜と、前記絶縁膜の上において各画素に形成され前記共通電極と向かい合うとともにスリットが形成された画素電極と、を備えた第1基板と、
第1方向に沿って延出した第1遮光部と、第1方向に交差する第2方向に沿って延出した第2遮光部と、前記第1遮光部と前記第2遮光部とが交差する第1交差部及び前記第1交差部よりも小さな面積の第2交差部と、前記第1交差部と重なる位置から前記第1基板に向かって延出した柱状スペーサと、を備えた第2基板と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に保持された液晶層と、
を備え、
前記第2遮光部は、第1方向に並んだ第1色画素と第2色画素との画素境界と重なる位置に配置され、
前記柱状スペーサは、前記第1交差部において、前記柱状スペーサの一部が前記画素境界上に位置する範囲内で第1方向にオフセットし、
前記第2遮光部上に位置する前記柱状スペーサは、前記画素境界から互い違いにオフセット配置されたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - さらに、前記第1交差部と前記柱状スペーサとの間に単一のカラーフィルタが配置されたことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記カラーフィルタは、赤色カラーフィルタであることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 四方が前記第2交差部に面する画素の開口部の面積を100%としたとき、前記第1交差部に面する同一色画素の開口部の面積は、93%〜98%であることを特徴とする請求項7乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記柱状スペーサの外周から前記第1交差部の辺までの距離が10μm〜20μmであることを特徴とする請求項7乃至10のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1遮光部は、前記第2遮光部よりも幅広であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至11のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1遮光部及び前記第2遮光部は、略長方形状の開口部を形成することを特徴とする請求項1乃至12のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1遮光部及び前記第2遮光部は、くの字形に屈曲した開口部を形成することを特徴とする請求項1乃至13のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1基板は、さらに、前記液晶層に接する面に配置され前記スリットに対して鋭角に交差する方向に沿って配向処理された第1配向膜を備え、
前記第2基板は、さらに、前記液晶層に接する面に配置され前記第1配向膜の配向処理方向と平行な方向に沿って配向処理された第2配向膜を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1乃至14のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
