Abstract
【解決手段】切削工具は、サーメットからなる基材を具える。サーメットは、TiとTiを除く周期表第4、5、6族から選ばれる少なくとも1種の金属と炭素及び窒素の少なくとも1種の元素とを含む化合物からなる硬質相と、鉄族金属を主成分とする結合相と、不可避的不純物とからなる。そして、基材のすくい面において、その表面に平均粒径が0.5μm以上5μm以下のアルミナ粒子及びジルコニア粒子の少なくとも1種の粒子が点在し、その表面におけるアルミニウム及びジルコニウムの少なくとも1種の元素の濃度が0.5原子%以上5原子%以下である。

本発明の切削工具を製造し、分析及び評価を行った。
(切削条件)
被削材:SCM415(4本のU溝付き)
切削速度:100m/min
送り:0.15mm/rev
切込み:1.0mm
切削状態:湿式
(評価方法)
切削開始から30分後に刃先部を観察して、溶着及び欠けの有無を光学顕微鏡で確認する。また、逃げ面(Vb)摩耗量(刃先処理量0.04mmを除く)が0.10mmに達するか、欠損に至るまでの切削時間を測定する。なお、切削時間が30分に満たなかった場合は、切削終了時点での溶着及び欠けの有無を確認する。
Claims (4)
- サーメットからなる基材を具える切削工具であって、
前記サーメットは、TiとTiを除く周期表第4、5、6族から選ばれる少なくとも1種の金属と炭素及び窒素の少なくとも1種の元素とを含む化合物からなる硬質相と、鉄族金属を主成分とする結合相と、不可避的不純物とからなり、
前記基材のすくい面において、その表面に平均粒径が0.5μm以上5μm以下のアルミナ粒子及びジルコニア粒子の少なくとも1種の粒子が点在し、その表面におけるアルミニウム及びジルコニウムの少なくとも1種の元素の濃度が0.5原子%以上5原子%以下であることを特徴とする切削工具。 - 前記アルミナ粒子及びジルコニア粒子の少なくとも1種の粒子の平均粒径が、1μm以上4μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の切削工具。
- 前記アルミニウム及びジルコニウムの少なくとも1種の元素の濃度が、1原子%以上2.5原子%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の切削工具。
- 前記基材表面の焼結肌から深さ50μmまでの平均硬度が、焼結肌から深さ150μm〜200μmの範囲の平均硬度よりも10%以上高いことを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の切削工具。
