Description

組織焼灼プロセスの開始時、RF発生器14によって出力される焼灼エネルギーのレベルは、期間Aを通じて一定なレベルに維持される。焼灼エネルギーが維持されるレベルは、ユーザまたはRF発生器14自体によって指示されてよい。一実施形態では、初期の焼灼電流の振幅は3アンペアである。別の場合、RF発生器14によって出力される焼灼エネルギーのレベルは、図2に示したように着々と増大される。いずれの場合にも、コントローラ62は、振幅調整器58へ信号を伝達し、これによって、所望の初期の焼灼エネルギーレベルにしたがってRF発振器46を駆動する。

ピーダンス/温度のベースライン値をある割合または所定のオフセットだけ越える値に等しい値であり、期間Cの終了時において、いつ焼灼エネルギーをオフにパルス化するかを決定するために用いられる第3の閾値は、第1の閾値をある割合または所定のオフセットだけ越える値に等しい値であり、期間Eの終了時において、いつ焼灼エネルギーをオフにパルス化するかを決定するために用いられる第5の閾値は、第3の閾値をある割合または所定のオフセットだけ越える値に等しい値である。期間Bの終了時において、いつ焼灼エネルギーをオンにパルス化するかを決定するために用いられる第2の閾値は、第1の閾値をある割合または所定のオフセットだけ下回る(かつ、期間Aの開始時のインピーダンス/温度のベースライン値を上回る)のに等しい値であり、期間Dの終了時において、いつ焼灼エネルギーをオンにパルス化するかを決定するために用いられる第4の閾値は、第3の閾値をある割合または所定のオフセットだけ下回る(かつ、第2の閾値を上回る)のに等しい値である。代替の実施形態では、閾値は所定の絶対値にて設定される。例示の実施形態では閾値が全て互いに異なっているが、代替の実施形態では、閾値のうちの少なくとも一部が同じであってもよい。

Claims (13)
- 焼灼エネルギー発生器において、
焼灼プローブを介して焼灼エネルギーを出力するためのエネルギー源と、
RF発振器を備える制御回路であって、RF発振器はパルス変調器および振幅調整器に結合されており、パルス変調器および振幅調整器はコントローラに結合されている、制御回路と、
焼灼プローブに備えられたインピーダンスセンサまたは温度センサからなり、コントローラに結合されている生理センサと、を備え、
前記制御回路は、第1の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスと、それに続く第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスとを送達するように構成されており、第1の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの各パルスは振幅が同じでかつパルス幅が徐々に減少し、第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの各パルスは振幅が同じでかつパルス幅が徐々に減少し、第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの振幅は第1の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの振幅未満である、焼灼エネルギー発生器。 - 第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスは、第1の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスのパルスのパルス幅が1秒以下に減少したときに送達される、請求項1に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの振幅は、第1の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの振幅に対し一定の割合である請求項1に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの振幅は、第1の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの振幅から固定の量だけ小さい、請求項1に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 前記制御回路は、第3の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスを送達するようにさらに構成されており、第3の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの各パルスは振幅が同じでかつパルス幅が徐々に減少し、第3の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの振幅は第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの振幅未満である、請求項1に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 第1及び第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスの各パルスの期間はコントローラに記憶さ
れた閾値に基づく、請求項1に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。 - 第1の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスについての閾値と第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスについての閾値とは異なる、請求項6に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 閾値は先の閾値に基づいて決定される請求項7に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 第2の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスについての閾値は第1の複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスについての閾値より大きい、請求項6に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 前記制御回路は、振幅の増大した焼灼エネルギーを所定の期間に渡って送達するようにさらに構成されている、請求項1に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 前記複数の焼灼エネルギーパルスのうちの1つの振幅およびパルス幅が閾値未満まで減少した後、振幅の増大した焼灼エネルギーが送達される、請求項10に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- エネルギー源は無線周波数(RF)エネルギー源である、請求項1乃至11のいずれか一項に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
- 閾値は50℃〜70℃の範囲の温度の値を含む、請求項6に記載の焼灼エネルギー発生器。
