Description
前記燃焼用給気空気(2)を導入するための外気吸入通路(4)と、前記排ガス流(3)を導入するための排ガス通路(5)と、前記外気吸入通路(4)に配置される圧縮機(7)と前記排ガス通路(5)に配置されるタービン(8)を備えた排ガスターボチャージャ(6)と、燃焼用給気空気流を前記圧縮機(7)の中に導入するために前記圧縮機(7)の直前に設けられる渦流発生器(9)と、前記圧縮機(7)の上流で外気吸入通路(4)に向けて開口して排ガス戻り流(12)を導入する戻し通路(11)が設けられる低圧排ガス戻り経路(10)と、を備えた燃焼用給気空気を供給し排ガス流を排出する構成の内燃機関であって、
前記渦流発生器(9)は排ガス戻り流(12)で生成される凝縮液又はパーティクルを分離するための遠心分離器(15)としても使用されることを特徴とする)を備えた構成によって解決される。
図の実施例では、外気流路4の空気フィルタ28と圧縮機7の間に分岐点32があり、該分岐点の下流にはメイン空気通路21及び渦流用空気通路22が、流体が連通するように並列に設けられる。メイン空気通路21と渦流用空気通路22には図に示すようにそれぞれ制御器具26、27が備えられていてもよい。この制御器具26、27それぞれによって、メイン空気通路21を流れるメイン空気流24と渦流用空気通路22を流れる補助空気流25の量を制御できる。渦流用空気通路22は渦流発生器9に向かって開口し、渦流発生器9では補助空気流25とメイン空気流24が圧縮機7の直前で合流することになる。渦流を発生させるのは補助空気流25であるが(発生方法については以下詳細に説明する。)、補助空気流25だけでなくメイン空気流24も渦流による影響を受けるので、渦流を伴った気体流で排ガスターボチャージャ6を運転することができる。このようにして部分負荷時でエンジン速度が遅い時でも排ガスターボチャージャの運転性能を向上させることができる。一定の運転状況下では、制御器具(空気ベーン)27によって渦流を発生させる補助空気流25の流量を減らすか、又は完全に遮断することが好ましい。この場合、排ガスターボチャージャ6は渦流が殆ど含まれないメイン空気流24の燃焼用給気空気が主に供給されることになる。また、メイン空気流24の流量を制御手段26によって制御してもよい。
Claims (9)
- 内燃機関(1)のシリンダに燃焼用給気空気(2)を供給し、該シリンダで燃焼した排ガス流(3)を前記内燃機関(1)から排出するために、
前記燃焼用給気空気(2)を導入するための外気吸入通路(4)と、前記排ガス流(3)を導入するための排ガス通路(5)と、前記外気吸入通路(4)に配置される圧縮機(7)と前記排ガス通路(5)に配置されるタービン(8)を備えた排ガスターボチャージャ(6)と、燃焼用給気空気流を前記圧縮機(7)の中に導入するために前記圧縮機(7)の直前の前記外気吸入通路(4)に設けられる渦流発生器(9)と、前記圧縮機(7)の上流で外気吸入通路(4)に向けて開口して排ガス戻り流(12)を導入する戻し通路(11)が設けられる低圧排ガス戻り経路(10)と、を備えた排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関であって、
前記渦流発生器(9)は排ガス戻り流(12)で生成される凝縮液又はパーティクルを分離するための遠心分離器(13)としても使用されるとともに、
前記排ガス戻り流(12)は前記渦流発生器(9)の旋回方向に向かって外気吸入通路(4)に対し略接線方向に導入されることを特徴とする排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。 - 前記渦流発生器(9)に導入される前記排ガス戻り流(12)には、軸方向の流れ成分、すなわち前記渦流発生器(9)への主流方向(14)と鋭角を為す方向の流れ成分が含まれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。
- 前記渦流発生器(9)の円周部材(15)には、分離した凝縮液の排出溝(16)が前記円周部材の内周面から径方向外側に向かって形成されることを特徴とする請求項1又は2のいずれか1項に記載の排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。
- 前記渦流発生器(9)の排出溝(16)は、円周方向に少なくとも180度以上に渡って延びることを特徴とする請求項3記載の排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。
- 前記排出溝(16)の断面曲率は前記渦流発生器(9)の旋回方向に沿って拡径させることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。
- 前記排出溝(16)は、前記渦流発生器(9)の旋回方向における終端部(20)に、該排出溝から離れる方向に向かって凝縮液排出路(19)が形成されることを特徴とする請求項3〜5のいずれか1項に記載の排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。
- 前記排出溝(16)の少なくとも1の端縁(17)に沿ってリップシールが設けられることを特徴とする請求項3〜6のいずれか1項に記載排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。
- 前記渦流発生器(9)には略直線方向に延びる中央メイン空気通路(21)と、該メイン空気通路(21)へと開口するメイン空気通路接線方向の流れ成分を備えた渦流用空気通路(22)とが設けられて、前記戻し通路(11)は前記渦流用空気通路(22)と連通するように設けられることを特徴とする請求項1〜7のいずれか1項に記載排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。
- 前記戻し通路(11)の前記渦流発生器(9)上流には、前記排ガス戻り流(12)を冷却する熱交換器(23)が設けられることを特徴とする請求項1〜8のいずれか1項に記載の排ガスターボチャージャを具えた内燃機関。
