Description
本願は、2006年6月30日付で出願された米国特許仮出願第60/818,358号(その全体は参照により本明細書中に援用される)の利益を主張する。
[実施例1]
電子レンジの床面と接触させた食品載置パネル即ち「底面」パネルの外側表面のコーティングが、架橋していない熱可塑性の水系コーティングから成る以外は、図2A〜図2Cと同様のカートンにおける実質的に単一の層に、約170gの波形フライドポテトを入れた。カートンの着脱可能な部分を指示書に従って取り外し、フライドポテトの上部に直接置いた。パッケージ及びフライドポテトを従来型の電子レンジに入れ、約4分間加熱した。加熱後、パッケージを電子レンジから取り出し、ブリスタリング及びピッキングを評価した。
底面パネルのコーティングが1gsmのFlint RMW96220プライマー(Flint Group North America(Plymouth, Michigan)が特許権を有する水系架橋性アクリルコーティング)を含む以外は、実施例1の手法を繰り返した。加熱後、パッケージを電子レンジから取り出し、ブリスタリング及びピッキングを評価した。ブリスタリングもピッキングも観測されなかった。
底面パネルのコーティングが2.5gsmのSun Chemical UV硬化性アクリレートコーティングRCMVF0341835(Sun Chemical Corporation (Parsippany, New Jersey)から入手可能、紫外線放射を用いて架橋される)を含む以外は、実施例1の手順を繰り返した。加熱後、パッケージを電子レンジから取り出し、ブリスタリング及びピッキングを評価した。ブリスタリングもピッキングも観測されなかった。
電子レンジに使用可能なパッケージの外面の種々のコーティングが、電子レンジにおける食品の加熱に用いた後にピッキングを受けやすいか否かを予測する実験手法を開発した。初めに、Sentinelヒートシーラーを約400°F及び90psiに設定した。次に、2つのコーティングされた構造体(例えば、カートン)を、コーティングが互いに対向するようにヒートシーラーに入れた。ヒートシーラーを閉じ、閉じた状態で約95秒の保圧時間を得るように維持した。加熱後、構造体を互いに離す方向に引張り、構造体が互いに固着しているか否かを確認した。
底面パネルの外側に2.5gsm Sun Chemical EB硬化性アクリレートコーティングRCHWB0488594(Sun Chemical Corporation(Parsippany, New Jersey)から入手可能)を含む、コーティングが電子線架橋されたRed Baronピザカートンを実施例4に記載の手法に従って評価した。ピッキングも固着も観測されなかった。
種々の水系アクリルコーティングを実施例4に記載の手法に従って評価した。結果を表1に示す。
種々のUV硬化性アクリレートコーティングを実施例4に記載の手法に従って評価した。結果を表2に示す。
Claims (29)
- 電子レンジにおいて食品を加熱し、焦げ目を付け且つ/又はかりかりに焼き上げる構造体であって、
第1の側と該第1の側に対向する第2の側とを有するパネル;
該第1の側の少なくとも一部の上に位置するマイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料であって、マイクロ波エネルギーに曝されると発熱し、該構造体の第1の表面を少なくとも部分的に規定するポリマーフィルム上に支持されており、該第1の表面が該食品に接触するものであるマイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料;及び
該パネルの該第2の側の少なくとも一部の上に位置する耐熱性コーティングであって、該パネルが該マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料と該耐熱性コーティングとの間に配置されている耐熱性コーティングを有しており、該耐熱性コーティングは、該構造体の第2の表面を少なくとも部分的に規定する熱硬化性ポリマーを含んでおり、該構造体の該第2の表面は該構造体の該第1の表面と対向していることを特徴とする電子レンジにおいて食品を加熱し、焦げ目を付け且つ/又はかりかりに焼き上げる構造体。 - 前記熱硬化性ポリマーがアクリレートポリマーである請求項1に記載の構造体。
- 前記耐熱性コーティングが約0.5グラム/平方メートル〜約5グラム/平方メートルのコーティング重量を有する請求項1又は2に記載の構造体。
- 前記耐熱性コーティングが約1グラム/平方メートル〜約2グラム/平方メートルのコーティング重量を有する請求項1又は2に記載の構造体。
- 前記耐熱性コーティングが、印刷された図形、テキスト又はそれらの組合せを被覆している請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。
- 前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料がサセプタを含んでいる請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。
- 熱エネルギーに曝された場合に該耐熱性コーティングが軟化に抗する請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。
- 前記耐熱性コーティングが約232℃の温度まで軟化に抗する請求項7に記載の構造体。
- 前記耐熱性コーティングが前記電子レンジの床面と実質的に接触関係にあるためのものである請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。
- 前記パネルが底面パネルであり、前記構造体が、
該底面パネルから上方向に延在する複数の壁;及び
該底面パネルに対向する上部パネルをさらに有しており、該上部パネルがマイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料を含んでいる請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。 - 前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料がサセプタとして構成されている請求項10に記載の構造体。
- 前記パネルが上部パネルであり、前記構造体が、
前記上部パネルから上方向に延在する複数の壁;及び
該上部パネルに対向する底面パネルをさらに有しており、該底面パネルがマイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料を含んでいる請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の構造体。 - 電子レンジにおいて食品を加熱し、焦げ目を付け且つ/又はかりかりに焼き上げる前の第1の縦型配置においては、前記上部パネルは食品の上にあるようにされ、電子レンジにおいて食品を加熱し、焦げ目を付け且つ/又はかりかりに焼き上げる間の第2の反転配置においては、前記上部パネルは食品の下にあるようにされる請求項12に記載の構造体。
- 前記底面パネルが可動部分を有しており、前記の第2の反転配置においては、該可動部分は前記構造体から分離され、食品の上に置かれる請求項13に記載の構造体。
- 請求項14に記載の構造体であって、焦げ目を付けること及びかりかりに焼き上げることの少なくとも一方が望まれる表面を有する食品との組合せにおいて、前記の第1の縦型配置においては、前記上部パネルは該食品の上にあり、かつ前記の第2の反転配置においては、前記上部パネルの前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料は該食品の下にあり、かつ前記底面パネルの前記可動部分の前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料は該食品の上にあり、その結果前記上部パネルの前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料及び前記底面パネルの前記可動部分の前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料は、焦げ目を付けること及びかりかりに焼き上げることの少なくとも一方が望まれる該食品表面に最も近く位置する構造体。
- 前記構造体が最初に前記食品が前記底面パネル上に位置する前記の第1の縦型配置にある請求項15に記載の前記組合せの使用方法であって、
該食品を、該食品が前記上部パネル上に位置するように配置すること;
該底面パネルの前記可動部分を該底面パネルから分離すること;及び
該底面パネルの該可動部分を、該底面パネルの該可動部分が該食品の上に位置するように配置することを含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記食品を該食品が前記上部パネル上に位置するように配置することが上記構造体を反転させることを含む請求項16に記載の方法。
- 電子レンジ内の前記構造体上に前記食品を、前記上部パネルの前記耐熱性コーティングが該電子レンジと接触関係にあるように配置すること;及び
該上部パネル上の該食品をマイクロ波エネルギーに曝して、該上部パネルの前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料と前記底面パネルの前記可動部分の前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料が発熱して該食品の表面に焦げ目を付けること及びかりかりに焼き上げることの少なくとも一方を行うことをさらに含んでおり、前記耐熱性コーティングが該熱の存在下での軟化に抗する請求項16又は17に記載の方法。 - マイクロ波加熱パッケージであって、
複数のパネルであって、内側と外側を有する第1のパネルを含む複数のパネル;
該第1のパネルの該内側に接合したサセプタフィルムであって、ポリマーフィルム上に配置されたマイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料を含み、該ポリマーフィルムが該パッケージの内表面を少なくとも部分的に規定しているサセプタフィルム;
該第1のパネルの該外側に配置された熱硬化性コーティングであって、該パッケージの外表面を少なくとも部分的に規定している熱硬化性コーティング;及び
熱硬化性コーティングと該第1のパネルの該外側の間に配置されたインクを含むことを特徴とするマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。 - 前記熱硬化性コーティングがアクリレートポリマーを含む請求項19に記載のマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。
- 前記熱硬化性コーティングが紫外線硬化型又は電子線硬化型である請求項19又は20に記載のマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。
- 前記熱硬化性コーティングが約0.5グラム/平方メートル〜約5グラム/平方メートルのコーティング重量を有する請求項19〜21いずれか一項に記載のマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。
- 前記熱硬化性コーティングが約1グラム/平方メートル〜約2グラム/平方メートルのコーティング重量を有する請求項19〜21のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。
- マイクロ波エネルギーに曝すと、
前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料が熱エネルギーを発生し、
該熱エネルギーの少なくとも一部が前記熱硬化性コーティングへ移行するが、
該熱エネルギーに曝されても該熱硬化性コーティングは軟化又は流動しない請求項19〜23のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。 - 前記熱硬化性コーティングが約232℃の温度まで軟化に抗する請求項19〜24のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。
- 請求項19〜25のいずれか一項に記載のマイクロ波加熱パッケージであって、前記第1のパネルが上部パネルであり、かつ前記マイクロ波加熱パッケージが、該上部パネルから下方向に延在する複数の壁及び該上部パネルに対向する底面パネルをさらに有しており、該底面パネルが可動部分を含んでおり、該可動部分がマイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料を含んでおり、第1の配置においては、該上部パネルは食品の上にあるようにされ、さらに第2の配置においては、該上部パネルは食品の下にあるようにされ、かつ該上部パネルの該可動部分は食品の上にあるようにされるマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。
- 請求項26に記載のマイクロ波加熱パッケージであって、焦げ目を付けること及びかりかりに焼き上げることの少なくとも一方が望まれる表面を有する食品との組合せにおいて、前記の第1の配置においては、前記上部パネルは該食品の上にあり、さらに前記の第2の配置においては、該上部パネルの前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料は該食品の下にあり、かつ前記底面パネルの前記可動部分の前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料は該食品の上にあり、その結果該上部パネルの該マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料及び該底面パネルの該可動部分の該マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料は、焦げ目を付けること及びかりかりに焼き上げることの少なくとも一方が望まれる該食品の該表面に最も近く位置するマイクロ波加熱パッケージ。
- 前記マイクロ波加熱パッケージが最初に前記食品が前記底面パネル上に位置する前記の第1の配置にある請求項27に記載の前記組合せの使用方法であって、
該食品を、該食品が前記上部パネル上に位置するように再配置すること;
該底面パネルの前記可動部分を該底面パネルから分離すること;及び
該底面パネルの該可動部分を、該底面パネルの該可動部分が該食品の上に位置するように配置することを含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項28に記載の方法であって、電子レンジ内の前記マイクロ波加熱パッケージ上に前記食品を、前記上部パネルの前記熱硬化性コーティングが該電子レンジと接触関係にあるように配置すること、及び該上部パネル上の該食品をマイクロ波エネルギーに曝して、該上部パネルの前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料と前記底面パネルの前記マイクロ波エネルギー相互作用材料が発熱して該食品の前記表面に焦げ目を付けること及びかりかりに焼き上げることの少なくとも一方を行うことをさらに含んでおり、該熱硬化性コーティングが該熱の存在下での軟化に抗する方法。
