Description
Claims (2)
- 画素アレイと寿命制御部とデューティ比伝達部と信号出力部とを有し、
前記画素アレイは、発光素子からなる画素の集合で画面を構成し、画像信号のレベルに応じた輝度で発光して1フレームごとに画像を画面に表示するとともに、デューティ比で規定された発光時間だけ各フレーム内で画面の発光を持続し、
前記寿命制御部は、該発光素子の寿命を延ばす為に、該画像信号の最大信号許容レベル及び該デューティ比を同時に調整し、
前記信号出力部は、該調整された最大信号許容レベル内で該画像信号を該画素アレイに出力して画面を表示駆動し、
前記デューティ比伝達部は、該調整されたデューティ比を該画素アレイに伝達しこれによって規定された発光時間だけ該画面を発光動作させ、
前記寿命制御部は、入力された画像信号に適応してリアルタイムで該最大信号許容レベル及び該デューティ比を自動的に調整するため、入力された画像信号から画像の平均輝度を検出し、該検出した平均輝度が高くなる程フレーム当りの発光時間を規定するデューティ比を小さくすると同時に、該画像信号の最大信号許容レベルを下げる表示装置。 - 発光素子からなる画素の集合で画面を構成し、画像信号のレベルに応じた輝度で発光して1フレームごとに画像を画面に表示するとともに、デューティ比で規定された発光時間だけ各フレーム内で画面の発光を持続する表示装置を駆動するため、
該発光素子の寿命を延ばす為に、該画像信号の最大信号許容レベル及び該デューティ比を同時に調整する寿命制御過程と、
該調整された最大信号許容レベル内で該画像信号を該画素アレイに出力して画面を表示駆動する信号出力過程と、
該調整されたデューティ比を該画素アレイに伝達しこれによって規定された発光時間だけ該画面を発光動作させるデューティ比伝達過程とを含み、
前記寿命制御過程は、入力された画像信号から画像の平均輝度を検出し、該検出した平均輝度が高くなる程フレーム当りの発光時間を規定するデューティ比を小さくすると同時に、該画像信号の最大信号許容レベルを下げる表示装置の駆動方法。
