Description
前記画素には、発光素子と、前記発光素子を駆動するトランジスタと、前記トランジスタの入力基準電圧を基に信号電圧を書き込む容量とが備えられ、
前記トランジスタは、前記発光素子の特性に応じてシフトされる入力基準電圧を基に、発光素子の発光時間を制御することを特徴とする。
書込み期間において、リセットスイッチ、特性保持スイッチの制御により、特性容量に記憶される発光素子の特性に無関係な駆動トランジスタの閾値電圧を基準として書込み信号電圧を書込み容量に記憶し、
発光期間において、発光制御スイッチの制御により、自発光素子を発光状態とするとともに、信号線から三角波を入力することにより、
三角波のレベルは書込み容量に記憶された自発光素子の特性と無関係な特性を基準としているのに対し、駆動トランジスタが自発光素子の特性を加味した閾値電圧となるため、自発光素子の温度や経年劣化による特性の変化に応じて発光時間が制御されることを特徴とする。

Claims (3)
- 複数の画素が配置された表示パネルと、前記表示パネルに配置された画素を選択する走査線駆動手段と、前記走査線駆動手段で選択された画素に信号電圧を供給するデータ線駆動手段とを有する表示装置において、
前記画素には、発光素子と、前記発光素子を駆動するトランジスタと、前記トランジスタの入力基準電圧を基に信号電圧を書き込む容量と、前記トランジスタの入力と出力を短絡するリセットスイッチと、前記トランジスタと前記発光素子との間に備えた発光制御スイッチを有し、
前記リセットスイッチは、第1の期間と第2の期間とからなる1フレーム期間の第1の期間にオンとなり、前記発光制御スイッチは、第2の期間にオンとなるものであり、
前記トランジスタは、前記発光素子の特性に応じてシフトされる入力基準電圧を基に、発光素子の発光時間を制御し、
前記データ線駆動手段は、前記第1の期間に信号電圧を画素に供給し、前記第2の期間に三角波信号を画素に供給することを特徴とする表示装置 - 前記三角波信号の直線傾斜部を曲線傾斜部とすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記発光素子の特性は、温度や経年変化による劣化で、その抵抗値が変化する特性であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
