アスコルビン酸やその誘導体は、美白作用などの作用が存することが知られており、この目的で化粧料などの皮膚外用剤に1〜3質量%の濃度で含有されてきた。かかるアスコルビン酸類は、極めて高い安全性を有しているため、有用な美白剤であるが、最大の問題点は安定性であり、アスコルビン酸類の含有量が高くなるほど、分解、失活、着色の問題が著しくなった。この為、3質量%以上の高濃度で使用する場合には、経時において、その有効量を確保するために、増量して配合するのが常であった。近年、アスコルビン酸類には、4〜20質量%と言う、更に高濃度域において、ニキビの改善作用や予防作用などの今まで知られていない作用が存することが明らかになっている(例えば、特許文献1を参照)。この様な有用性を実用化するためには、高濃度であってもアスコルビン酸を安定に含有できる剤形の開発が望まれていた。 Ascorbic acid and its derivatives are known to have an effect such as a whitening effect, and have been contained in skin external preparations such as cosmetics at a concentration of 1 to 3% by mass for this purpose.
