【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、家庭用給湯器やガスストーブ等に使用する表面燃焼バーナ装置に関し、特に金属細線からなる多数の繊維を絡ませて形成された燃焼用マットを用いた表面燃焼バーナ装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、家庭用給湯器やガスストーブ等の表面燃焼バーナ装置に用いるバーナ用マットとしては、セラミック板に多数の孔を穿設したものが一般的であったが、例えば特願昭60−40961号明細書には金属細線からなる多数の繊維を絡ませて形成された燃焼用マットを用いた表面燃焼バーナ装置が記載されている。また、高負荷燃焼のために多くのガスを流したり、マットにゴミが詰まることを防止するために上記マットに多数の小孔を開設することが試みられている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、燃焼用マットに多数の孔を設けると、その径、ガスの圧力によっては燃焼時に燃焼音が共鳴して笛を吹くような音(以下、本明細書では笛吹き音と記す)が発生し、燃焼装置の作動時に於ける静粛性を妨げる原因となることがあった。ちなみに、笛吹き音の共鳴周波数は約700Hz〜1200Hzである。

本発明は、上記した従来技術の問題点に鑑みなされたものであり、その主な目的は、金属細線からなる多数の繊維を絡ませて形成されると共に多数の小孔が穿設された燃焼用マットを用いた表面燃焼バーナ装置の笛吹き音を簡単な構造をもって防止することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記した目的は、本発明によれば、金属細線からなる多数の繊維を絡ませて形成されると共に多数の小孔が穿設された燃焼用マットをケーシングに固定し、その裏面側空室から表面側に燃焼ガス及び空気の混合ガスを供給して該表面でこれを燃焼させるようにした表面燃焼バーナ装置であって、前記マットの裏面側空室に於ける混合ガスの圧力損失が、ガス流量を3.5L/min/cm2としたときに10mmAqを越えるように、前記マットのガス上流側に通気性の仕切板を設けたことを特徴とする表面燃焼バーナ装置を提供することにより達成される。特に、前記仕切板として金属製メッシュを積層してなるものや金属細線からなる多数の繊維を絡ませて形成されたものを用いると良い。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下に、添付の図面を参照して本発明の好適な実施形態について詳細に説明する。

図1は、本発明が適用された好適な実施形態を示す表面燃焼バーナ装置の要部断面図である。この表面燃焼バーナ装置は、線径が20μm〜100μmの多数の耐熱性金属細線を絡ませて焼成してなるマット1と、後端に混合ガスの供給管3が接続されたケーシング2とを有している。ケーシング2の前端には外向フランジ2aが形成されている。この外向フランジ2aにパッキン4を介して後記する仕切板5を配置し、更にパッキン6を介してマット1の縁部を合わせてボルトにより締結することによりマット1及び仕切板5をケーシング2に固定している。また、ケーシング2とマット1との間に画定されたガス室(空室)A内には整流板7が設けられている。上記マット1には混合ガスが透過し易いように直径1mm程度の多数の小孔1aが開設されている。

マット1のガス上流側に設けられた仕切板5は、笛吹き音の発生を防止するためのものであり、マット1と同じ金属細線を絡ませて焼成してなるマットにより構成されている。但し、小孔は設けられていない。また、その密度等はガス流量を3.5L/min/cm2としたときにガス室A内の圧力損失が10mmAqを越えるように設定されている。

尚、上記構成では仕切板5として、マット1と同様な金属細線を絡ませて焼成してなるマットを用いたが、金属製メッシュを積層してなるものでも同様な効果が得られる。

また、上記構成では、仕切板5をマット1と共締めしたが、これに限定されず、整流板7の支持部材8を利用して取り付けても良い。ここで、仕切板5による混合ガスの分散の程度によっては整流板7を省略することもできる。

【発明の効果】
上記した説明により明らかなように、本発明による表面燃焼バーナ装置によれば、金属細線からなる多数の繊維を絡ませて形成されると共に多数の小孔が穿設された燃焼用マットの裏面側空室(ガス室)に於ける混合ガスの圧力損失が、ガス流量を3.5L/min/cm2としたときに10mmAqを越えるように、このマットのガス上流側に通気性の仕切板を設けることで、不快な笛吹き音の発生を容易に、かつ確実に防止でき、表面燃焼バーナ装置の静粛性が向上する。これにより、高負荷燃焼も低騒音で可能となる。
