Abstract
Description
本出願は、全体として参照により本明細書に組み入れられる、2009年9月11日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/241,553号の利益を享受することを主張する。
本発明は、感圧接着剤および、特に、粘着化後のアジリジン架橋剤とインラインで混合され、かつ、二重硬化性粘着付与アクリル系感圧接着剤に関する。
あらゆる試みにもかかわらず、低表面エネルギー基材への高い剥離接着力、高温せん断、優れた応力緩和特性、および優れた変換特性の組合せを有するようなPSAは得られていない。新素材での多くの産業用テープ結合の用途には、PSAは高い粘着力、低表面エネルギー基材への接着力、および応力緩和特性などの特性の組合せが、まだ要求されている。
アクリル共重合体は、重合されたアルキルアクリレートエステルおよび/またはアルキルメタクリレートエステルモノマーを主骨格とし、かつ、所望のエポキシの機能性と不飽和カルボン酸のポジティブ量を含有する、重合グリシジルモノマーを含む。前記共重合体はインラインで混合されたアジリジン架橋剤と共に粘着付与剤と混合して、「二重硬化性」粘着付与感圧接着剤を得る。前記接着剤は当初は(または主に)熱に対する露出により硬化したときには、優れた粘着性と剥離性および高温せん断性能の良好なバランスを示す接着剤となる。次に、接着剤が使用時の条件下での高温に曝露されるとき(二次硬化)、固有相互作用が隣接する共重合体鎖間で起こる。いずれの特定の理論にもとらわれることなく、グリシジルモノマーのエポキシ部はカルボン酸部と相互作用をするようであり、それにより、さらに共重合体を架橋する固有の二次硬化をもたらす。
共重合体が調製されると、感圧接着剤は、共重合体と粘着付与剤とを混合して製剤される。種々の粘着付与剤は接着剤の粘着性と剥離性を向上させるのに使用することが出来る。そのような粘着付与剤は、ロジンエステル、分画、水素化、脱水素化、および重合したロジンなどの変性ロジン、変性ロジンエステルなどを含む、松のオレオレジンに天然に存在するロジン系材料、ならびにこれらの誘導体を含有するロジンおよびロジン誘導体が含まれるがこれらに限定されない。
粘着付与接着剤は、アジリジン架橋剤を使用して架橋することができる。従来のアジリジン架橋剤を使用することができる。一実施形態において、アジリジン架橋剤はディーエスエム ネオレジンズ社(DSM NeoResins)のCX−100である。アジリジン架橋剤CX−100は100%活性多官能化アジリジン液体架橋剤である。前記架橋剤は、ウェブ上に混合物を被覆する前に、インラインミキサ工程を使用して添加することができる。架橋剤レベルの範囲は、乾燥接着剤の重量を基準にして、重量の約0.05から約1%である。
また、本発明の接着剤は顔料、フィラー、可塑剤、希釈剤などの1つ以上の従来のアジュバントを含んでもよい。必要に応じて、顔料は接着剤に所望の色を出すのに十分な量で提供する。顔料の実施例はカーボンブラック、二酸化チタンなどの固体型無機フィラー、さらに有機色素が含まれるがこれらに限定されない。
モノマー混合物は207gのブチルアクリレート、61.2gのアクリル酸2‐エチルヘキシル、23.1gのアクリル酸、および0.1gのメタクリル酸グリシジルを混合して調製した。前記混合物68.5gをピッチドタービン型攪拌機、還流コンデンサーおよびサーミスタが装備された1.5リットルの窒素パージした反応炉に入れた。また、酢酸エチル29.7gとアセトン18gを添加した。反応炉の内容物を加熱還流し、続けて、デュポン(Dupont)社が製造販売しているバゾ(Vazo:登録商標)64(2−2'−アゾ−ビス−イソブチロニトリル)0.05gを酢酸エチル4.5gに添加した。活発な還流が短い時間に開始されたが反応炉の内容物を15分間保持した。この時点で、残存するモノマーを酢酸エチル195g、アセトン40gおよび0.24gのバゾ(Vazo:登録商標)64 と混合し、続けて、シングル供給混合物として3時間以上添加した。供給している間、反応炉の内容物を還流下にしておく温度を維持した。供給終了1時間後、0.12gのバゾ(Vazo:登録商標)64を酢酸エチル9gおよびアセトン4g中で添加し、さらに1時間保持した。この工程を2回繰り返した。最終添加終了時に、さらに1時間保持し、次に、トルエン178gとヘプタン27gを添加した。終了時の固形分濃度は36%であり、かつ、粘性はブルックフィールド(Brookfield)粘度計により、12rpmで4番スピンドルを用いて8000Pa.sであった。得られたポリマーは71重量%のブチルアセテート、21重量%のアクリル酸2‐エチルヘキシル、8重量%のアクリル酸、および0.03重量%のメタクリル酸グリシジルから成る。ポリマーはフランスのDRT社が製造した20重量%のデルトフェンT粘着付与剤(テルペンフェノール)を用いて調製した。次に、粘着付与接着剤はオランダのネオレジンズ(NeoResins)社の0.1%のアジリジン架橋剤CX−100を用いて、インライン工程で混合された。HPA HCとして同定されている実施例1を生成するウェブ上に被覆する前に、正確に測定し、粘着付与接着剤をアジリジン架橋剤と均一に混合するために、特別な計量と混合システムであるスイスのドパッグ(DOPAG)社製造のラドミックス(LADO−MIX)V−SBを使用した。
Claims (9)
- アジリジン架橋剤を含有する二重硬化性アクリル系共重合体を含む粘着付与感圧接着剤組成物。
- 前記アクリル系共重合体は、アルキルアクリレートエステルおよびその混合物から成る群から選択された少なくとも1つのモノマーと、アリルグリシジルエーテル、アクリル酸グリシジルエステル、メタクリル酸グリシジルエステル、およびこれらの混合物、ならびに不飽和カルボン酸から成る群から選択されるグリシジルモノマーと、を含むモノマーの混合物の共重合から成る、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- フィラー、顔料、希釈剤、可塑剤等から選択される1つ以上のアジュバントをさらに含む、請求項1または2に記載の組成物。
- 共重合をさせた場合、90〜50%のBA、5〜40%の2−EHA、0.01から0.1%のメタクリル酸グリシジルエステル、最大約10%のポジティブ量の不飽和カルボン酸モノマー、10から40%の粘着付与剤、および0.05から1%のアジリジン架橋剤を含有する、架橋アクリル系共重合体を含む粘着付与感圧接着剤組成物。
- 二重硬化性感圧系接着剤を調製する方法であって、
a)アルキルアクリレートエステルおよびその混合物から成る群から選択された少なくとも1つのモノマーと、アリルグリシジルエーテル、アクリル酸グリシジルエステル、メタクリル酸グリシジルエステル、およびこれらの混合物、ならびに不飽和カルボン酸から成る群から選択されるグリシジルモノマーと、を含むモノマーの混合物を共重合し、共重合体を形成することと、
b)粘着付与剤を添加し、粘着付与接着剤を調製することと、
c)アジリジン架橋剤を前記粘着付与接着剤に添加し、二重硬化性感圧接着剤を得ることと、
を含む方法。 - 前記二重硬化性感圧系接着剤に、フィラー、顔料、希釈剤、可塑剤等から選択される1つ以上のアジュバントを添加することをさらに含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- d)基材上に接着剤を被覆することと、
e)接着剤を乾燥させることと、
をさらに含む、請求項5に記載の方法。 - 請求項1または2に記載の感圧接着剤を含む、接着剤被覆生成物。
- 前記生成物はテープである、請求項3に記載の生成物。
