It is pivotably connected and is bent by an articulating cylinder (not shown) provided between the rear vehicle body 3 and the front vehicle body 5.

A cab 6 is installed on the rear vehicle body 3 so as to surround the operator's driver's seat, and a step 8 is provided on the side surface of the rear vehicle body 3 below the skeleton column 7 on the front side of the cab 6. Further, a working device 9 used for bucket work or the like is installed on the front body 5 (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

The skeletal column 7 is a hollow tube-shaped pillar having an opening at the lower end. The tube is immersed in a rust preventive paint (so-called soaking) and the outer surface and inner surface of the tube are simultaneously formed. Since the tube end opening and the air vent hole necessary for painting are formed, after manufacture, rainwater enters the skeletal column 7 from these holes, or condensation occurs in the skeleton column 7, May flow down from the opening at the lower end of the skeletal column 7 as water droplets.

The opening surrounded by the upper edge of the side plate portion 73, the upper edge of the side plate 87, and the upper edge of the door plate 89 is closed by a floor plate (not shown) of the cab 23 as shown in FIG.

Next, the function and effect of this embodiment will be described.

When the side plate 87 is fixed to the water receiver 58 and the mounting support plate 71, the door plate 89 is closed and fixed by the lock mechanism 90, the side plate 87 and the door plate 89 are brought into close contact with the seal 67 of the water receiver 58, and the drainage is discharged. Since the periphery of the water receiver 58 is closed except for the groove 68, rainwater that has entered the deformed tube of the skeletal column 31 or condensation that has occurred in the deformed tube becomes water droplets at the lower end of the skeleton column 31. When the water flows down into the water receiver 58 from the opening 57, the water is changed so that the water flows downward only from the drain groove 68 located farthest from the battery 53. It flows out through the notch 84.

During maintenance of the battery 53, the lock mechanism 90 is released and the door plate 89 is opened to check or replace the battery 53. The seal 86 functions as a cushioning material that cushions the contact when the door plate 89 is closed.

A storage structure 51 having a water receiver 58 for guiding drainage flowing down from the opening 57 at the lower end of the tube of the skeleton column 31 of the cab 23 so as to avoid the battery 53 is disposed on the side surface of the body 22 below the skeleton column 31. Since it is arranged, the marginal space below the skeleton column 31 of the cab 23 can be effectively used as a storage space for the battery 53.

The storage structure 51 having a strong cover structure for protecting the battery 53 can be configured by using the mounting plate 71, the side plate 87, and the door plate 89 together with the water receiver 58. Further, the maintenance of the battery 53 can be facilitated by opening the door plate 89.

The storage structure 51 is arranged in a marginal space between the cab 23 and the footrest 52 so that the battery 53 can be stored in a space-efficient manner, and the door plate 89 receives an impact from the operator's legs, etc., hung on the footrest 52. The force can be distributed and received by the loading support plate 71, the side plate 87, and the water receiver 58, and durability can be ensured.

In particular, the seal 67 provided on the water receiver 58 and the seal 86 provided on the side plate portion 73 of the mounting support plate 71 also function as cushioning materials that buffer the impact force received by the door plate 89. The metal contact at the contact portion between the members is prevented, which is effective in preventing damage.

As described above, it is possible to provide the wheel loader 20 as a work machine that can effectively use the margin space below the skeleton column 31 of the cab 23 as a storage space for the battery 53. Since damage to the battery 53 due to rainwater or the like can be reliably prevented, the quality and reliability of the work machine can be improved.

In the illustrated embodiment, the battery 53 is illustrated as an object to be stored, but the object to be stored may be another electric device or a tool box. Furthermore, although the dish-shaped water receiver 58 is illustrated as the drainage guide means, the drainage guide means may be formed in a duct shape.

The present invention is applicable to vehicles and work machines such as wheel loaders.
