Abstract
【解決手段】この電池の極板群の巻き始め部分は、活物質が塗着されていない正極集電体に正極リード9が接続されていて、この正極リードから極板群の外径方向において、正極リードが接続された周回と、その周回の外側に位置している活物質が塗着されている正極板1が初めてくる周回との間には、少なくとも2周の活物質が塗着されている負極板2が、セパレータを介して配置している。

Description
前記正極リードから前記極板群の外径方向において、前記正極リードが接続された周回と、その周回の外側に位置している活物質が塗着されている正極板が初めてくる周回との間には、少なくとも2周の活物質が塗着されている負極板が、セパレータを介して配置している円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池である。
コバルト酸リチウム3kgと、結着剤としてのポリフッ化ビニリデン(呉羽化学(株)製#1320、固形分12重量%のN−メチル−2−ピロリドン(以下、NMPと略す)溶液)1kgと、アセチレンブラック90gと、適量のNMPとを、双腕式練合機にて攪拌し、正極合剤ペーストを調製する。このペーストを15μm厚のアルミニウム箔集電体1aの両面に塗布し、乾燥後圧延して、厚み160μmの正極板1を作製する。
人造黒鉛3kgと、結着剤としてスチレン−ブタジエン共重合体(日本ゼオン(株)製BM−400B、固形分40重量%の水性分散液)75gと、増粘剤としてのカルボキシメチルセルロース30gと、適量の水とを、双腕式練合機にて攪拌し、負極合剤ペーストを調製する。このペーストを10μm厚の銅箔集電体2aの両面に塗布し、乾燥後圧延して、厚み180μmの負極板2を作製する。
エチレンカーボネートと、ジメチルカーボネートと、およびメチルエチルカーボネートとを体積比2:3:3で混合した混合溶媒に、六フッ化リン酸リチウム(LiPF6)を1mol/Lの濃度で溶解し、さらに添加剤として、ビニレンカーボネートを3重量%加え、電解液を調製する。
以下に、極板群4および電池の作製方法について説明する。
図4に示すように、正極リード9を、正極合剤1bが塗着されていない極板群4の最内周に配置されるようにアルミニウム箔集電体1aに接続した。正極合剤1bが塗着されていないアルミニウム箔集電体1aを、1周巻いた後に、負極合剤2bが塗着されている負極板2を、微多孔ポリエチレンフィルム3(図示せず)を介して、アルミニウム箔集電体1aと対向させた。アルミニウム箔集電体1aを、微多孔ポリエチレンフィルム3(図示せず)を介して、負極板2と渦巻き状に巻き、正極リード9から見て、正極合剤1bの塗着部14が来る周回の間に、負極合剤2bが塗着された負極板2を、2周、3周、4周、5周巻いた極板群を作製し、それぞれ実施例1〜実施例4の極板群4とした(図4は2周巻いた極板群4を示し、3〜5周巻いた極板群4は図示していない)。
正極リード9と正極合剤1bが塗着された塗着部14が周回されるまでの間に、微多孔ポリエチレンフィルム3を介して、負極板2を1周巻いた以外は実施例1〜4と同様にして比較例1の極板群および電池を作製した。
正極板の破断に有無は、電池各30セルを電池分解し、正極板の塗着部における破断の有無を目視により観察し、破断した電池の数をカウントした。
電池容量は、3.0Vの終止電圧まで400mA(0.2ItA(ここで、Iは電流、tは時間を示す))の定電流で残存放電した後、電池電圧が4.2Vに達するまでは1400mA(0.7ItA)の定電流充電を行い、3.0Vの終止電圧まで400mA(0.2ItA)の定電流で放電する充放電を3回繰り返し、3回目の放電容量を電池容量とし、n=5測定したときの平均値を算出した。電池の設計容量は2000mAhである。

Claims (1)
- 帯状の集電体に活物質が塗着された正極板と、帯状の集電体に活物質が塗着された負極板との間に帯状のセパレータを介し、複数回渦巻き状に巻かれた極板群を備え、この極板群の巻き始め部分は、活物質が塗着されていない正極集電体に正極リードが接続されている円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池であって、
前記正極リードから前記極板群の外径方向において、前記正極リードが接続された周回と、その周回の外側に位置している活物質が塗着されている正極板が初めてくる周回との間には、少なくとも2周の活物質が塗着されている負極板が、セパレータを介して配置している円筒形リチウムイオン二次電池。
