Abstract

Internal combustion engine, in which the crankshaft is replaced by a pair of ratchets (9, 10) positioned on the shaft (11) of the engine for each pair of cylinders (1, 2) and respective pistons (3, 4). Thus, the shaft (11) produces much greater work since the maximum torque is exercised constantly on it, while in the case of the crankshaft the torque fluctuates. The ratchets (9, 10) include an internal part (I) and an external part (II) and they are connected to the rods (7, 8) connected of the pistons (3, 4) with arms (D, E). In the successive detonation of the pistons (3) and (4) of the pair of pistons (3, 4) the ratchets (9) and (10) respectively rotate counterclockwise, by coupling of their internal part (I) in the external part (II),while at the same time the ratchets (10) and (9) rotate uncontrollably, with decoupling of their internal part (I) from the external part (II). Thus counterclockwise rotation of the shaft (11) is received permanently.
