Abstract
927,101. Insulating cable joints. HOLLANDSCHE DRAAD EN KABELFABRIEK N.V. April 12, 1961 [April 29, 1960], No. 13216/61. Class 38 (1). A cable joint is surrounded by a substantially cylindrical insulating sleeve 2 having a slit or gap 3 along its whole length, the sleeve 2 being applied by elastically flexing it to widen slit 3 and arranging it around the cable joint whereupon the sleeve resumes its original form. Slit end sealing rings 4 of resilient foamed material are prearranged on the cable conductor insulation or adhesively secured in the sleeve ends. A moulding resin is poured in through the slit 3 and/or one or more filler openings (not shown). Sleeve 2 may be of transparent polyvinyl-chloride or other high polymer substances.
