Abstract
924,347. Cores for electric motors. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS - G.m.b.H. Feb. 16, 1962 [Feb. 23, 1961], No. 6042/62. Class 35. The performances of miniature motors are made consistent in spite of manufacturing tolerances by adjusting the reluctance of the permanent magnet stator core. The stator comprises endshields (not shown) joined by longitudinal stays 5 to permanent magnet polepieces 9, 10. The flux return yoke 11 consists of a magnetically soft cylinder which is obliquely gapped either longitudinally or peripherally, so that its physical position determines the reluctance. Alternatively the yoke 11 may consist of turns of magnetic wire round the stator, the number of turns being selected to give the desired reluctance. In addition, an inner soft magnetic sleeve 13 is obliquely cut off at C at one end and may be rotated to vary the pole-face reluctance.
