Abstract
A nickel base alloy, suitable for use in parts of gas turbine engines where temperatures of up to 2000 DEG F. are encountered, has the following composition by weight:- .Cr.6 to 17%, .W more than.5 to 20%, .Nb.0.25 to 3%, .Al.2 to 8%, .C.0.02 to 0.30%, .Co.2 to 15%, with .either B.0.001 to 0.2%, or .Zr.0.001 to 0.5%, or both, .with or without. .Ti.up to 4%, .Mo.up to 3%, .Fe.up to 5%, .Si.up to 1%, .Mn.up to 2%, and .Ni.the remainder, including any impurities e.g. N, H, Sn, Pb, and/or up to 0.5% of deoxidizes such as Ca and Mg. The Ti content must not exceed the Al content, and the Cr content must not exceed 15% when Nb and Co exceed 1% and 5%, respectively, and W and Al are below 11% and 5%, respectively.
