Abstract

916,301. Snap-action switches. ELEKTROSKANDIA A.B. Jan. 4, 1961, No. 407/61. Class 38 (5). A contact-actuating pin 1 is movable in a groove 2 between an open position 3 and a closed position 4 by a link 7 and a lever 5 via a compression-spring 11 which may be of the coiled type. In the open position, lever 5 starts in the X-X position and clockwise movement thereof eventually moves the point 12 over dead-centre and point 9, link 7 and pin 1 are moved to the right. Just before the deadcentre condition, a pusher 18 on lever 5 extends a toggle 13, 14 to help the mechanism over deadcentre and to provide positive actuation if the spring fails. A pusher 19 acts similarly in the reverse direction. A practical embodiment is also described (Figs. 3, 4, not shown).
