Abstract

1,107,442. Snap-action switches. E. MARQUARDT, J. MARQUARDT, H. MARQUARDT, and E. MARQUARDT, [trading as FIRMA J. & J. MARQUARDT]. 19 April, 1966 [21 April, 1965], No. 17063/66. Heading H1N. A snap-action switch with a centre-stable OFF position has a moving contact-carrying member g pivoted on two rocker bearings e and (f), (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) and movable with a snap-action out of contact with a fixed contact x, as it pivots about bearing e, then movable with a snap-action into contact with a fixed contact (z), (Fig. 4), as it pivots about bearing (f), a plunger h engaging a pivoted lever i to move the snap-spring I over centre. A spring m acts as a return spring when pressure on plunger h is released, the plunger h being actuated by a rotary cam or other means (not shown). The switch may be used as a simple on/off switch controlling two circuits. The switch cover-plates are transparent so that the switching action may be observed.
