742,775. Wrenches. AKTIEBOLAGET, B. A. HJORTH & CO. Nov. 20, 1953. No. 32265/53. Class 61 In a wrench having adjustable jaws 2, 3 pivoted on a handle 1 at spaced points 4, 5, the jaws having gripping faces which are parallel to one another in all positions of adjustment, the engaging edges of the jaws are waved, each wave having the form of the arc of a circle the radius of which is equal to half the distance between the pivot centres, and one wave crest of each jaw has its centre coincident with the pivotal point of that jaw. The projection of the distance between the pivot centres 4, 5 of the jaws on to the parallel gripping surfaces thereof in any position of the jaws is equal to or less than half the distance between the gripping faces. A spring 10 holds the jaws in adjusted position. The back 8 of the jaw 3 is knurled for thumb operation.
