Abstract
725,702. Electromagnets. HERION, E. Feb. 27, 1953 [March 10, 1952], No. 5653/53. Class 35. [Also in Group XXIX] A solenoid-actuated valve comprises a core b, Fig. 2, carrying the closure member g and guided in a one-piece tube d of magnetic material, surrounded by the coil a. An annular groove f is provided in the wall of the tube to change the magnetic attraction characteristic to a desired value. The recess may be packed with non-magnetic material. The tube d and recess f replace what is said to be a known construction in which the core guide tube is in two parts d1, d, Fig. 1, joined by a ring e which changes the attraction characteristic, the joints being soldered or welded.
