Abstract
681,470. Spray-producers. MALTNER, H. May 15, 1951 [June 3, 1950], No. 11245/51. Class 69(iii). A casing 2, containing a liquid tank 8 and two pump cylinders 10, slides within a casing 1 containing pump plungers 14, and air from the cylinders passes through a duct 23 to atomise liquid drawn up a tube 22, and the resultant spray is delivered from an outlet 25. The air and liquid outlets are formed in a head 7 and, together with an air inlet duct 18, are sealed in the non-spraying position by a member 34 on a pin 32 attached to a cap 27. In this position the casing 2 is forced downwardly against springs 15, and the cap is moved in bayonet slots 26 against a,spring 29 to engage, by its rim 30, clip-like projections 31 on the casing 1. In a further embodiment, Fig. 4, the head 7 is surrounded by a tubular sleeve 35 which carries a screwed cap 36 secured to a sealing member 34, and the air inlet passage 18 contains a throttle valve 38. In the closed position the passage 18 is closed by a needle 39.
