617,706. Transformers. CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES J. E. M., Soc. A R. L. POUR L'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES J. ET M. JACQUET. Oct. 21, 1946, No. 31248. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1943. [Class 38 (ii)] A transformer for a welding circuit with magnetic leakage between the primary and secondary windings, has a core with three parallel limbs in the same plane, the outer two, 2, 3, of which each carry a primary winding P1, P2, the secondary winding S being slidingly mounted on inner limb 4. The leakage, which varies with the position of winding S, may be increased by parts 2<SP>1</SP>, 31 or other projections on the outer limbs approaching the inner limb. The ends and taps of primaries P1, P2 are connected to six terminals a-f arranged at the corners of an equilateral hexagon, and by appropriately connecting adjacent terminals, the windings P1, P2-or part of them with lower input volts-are connected in series or parallel across a single phase supply, or across two phases of a two, or three-phase supply. Secondary S may have tappings 1-5 or may be divided into two parts which can be connected in series or parallel, the primary tappings being omitted, Fig. 7 (not shown).
