Abstract

569,252. Dynamo-electric machines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and HEWITT, W.. June 9, 1943, No. 9262. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXVII] In a system wherein two or more machines are arranged to rotate in synchronism, each machine is constructed as a D.C. commutator motor having an armature with wide slot openings between teeth 6 and field magnet poles 3 with slots of pitch different from that of the armature, and windings 10 are placed in the slots in the field poles in which alternating current is induced by inductor-alternator action, each of these windings being connected to a corresponding winding on each of the other machines.
