Abstract
518,960. Closures for bottles. HARRIES, M. E. (Simon [nee Grunebaum], E.). May 31, 1939, No. 16024. [Class 125 (iii)] The neck B of a bottle A is formed as a dovetailed, inverted truncated cone with opposite sides cut away to form parallel faces B<1>, B<2>, the top is closed except for an opening. surrounded by the circular flange B'. The closure cap C preferably has a cross section corresponding to that of the bottle neck, and the recess in the cap just fits over the neck in the closing position. A recess in the upper part of the cap fits.over the flange B' to close the discharge opening. The cap is first placed on the bottle at right angles to the 'neck and is then turned through 90 degrees when the dovetailed neck holds it in position to close the opening.
