Abstract
464,089. Centrifugal pumps. MACHINEFABRIEK GEB. STORK & CO. N. V., and BARGEBOER, A. Nov. 9, 1936, No. 30579. Convention date, Nov. 16, 1935. [Class 110 (i)] In a pump of the liquid-ring type the edges of the vanes 15 on the rotor are -not parallel with the axis of the shaft 3. The inlet and outlet ports 14, 13, lead from and to chambers A, B, displaced axially from the pumping chamber. The edges of the vanes may be curved or have projections of trapeziform shape, In a modified description circular straps are secured around the outer edges of the vanes, the straps having projections attached. The outer edges of the vanes may be curved. In a further arrangement the casing bore is irregular in axial cross-section having a corrugated appearance. Fig. 9 shows a modification in which the casing bore is curved inwards to screen the projection P in the neighbourhood of the inlet and outlet ports 14, 13.
