Abstract
415,168. Alternating-current motors. HOLLANDS, H. W., 62, Haslemere Avenue, West Ealing, London. March 13, 1933, No. 7614. [Class 35.] A synchronous motor for driving electric clocks has a stator formed from a single stamping with a central part 3 and outer ends 4 ; toothed polepieces 7 attached to the ends project inwards. The toothed rotor disc 8 is supported by a spindle 6 provided with a bearing in the centre part of the yoke. A disc of brass 9 or other non-magnetic material is rotatably mounted on the spindle being in frictionally engagement therewith. In a modification the rotor is in the form of an externally toothed annulus with the central hole nearly filled by a disc fixed to the centre part of the stator ; a brass cross bar attached to the annulus forms the means for mounting on the spindle.
