Abstract

409,499. Solidifying liquid films by cooling. LUDKE, F., 1315, Av. del Campo, Buenos Aires. March 30, 1933, No. 9663. [Class 29.] An ice-making apparatus comprises a frustoconical casing through which water is circulated by a pump Q, the casing being provided with a cooling jacket through which refrigerant, e.g. ammonia, is circulated. The ice film formed on the inside of the casing is removed by a rotary scraper J and passes with the water over a baffle H to a chamber containing an ice press L and having drains O connected to the pump. Make-up water is supplied through a pipe T.
