Abstract

293,710. Favier, F., and Thibaud, P. July 9, 1927, [Convention date]. Cold accumulators.-A cold accumulator for refrigerating chambers comprises a ribbed pipe B conveying the cooling medium located in closed envelopes A containing a liquid such as glycerine and water, which congeals while the coldproducing machine is working and maintains an even temperature in the chamber while melting when the machine is idle. The envelopes have charging plugs E, leaving expansion spaces above the congealable liquid, and emptying plugs F. Pipes fitted with the cold accumulator chambers may be arranged in parallel, or, as shown, in series with pipes not having such chambers, the ribs being closer together on the exposed pipes. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of alcohol and water, a calcium or sodium chloride solution, or even pure water, as the congealable substance. The outer envelopes may also have undulating or ribbed surfaces. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
