Abstract
392,805. Fountain pens. INKPAK MANUFACTURING CO., Inc., 200, Madison Avenue, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Furedy, F. ; 25, Prospect Place, Tudor City, New York, U.S.A.) Sept. 27, 1932, No. 26823. Convention date, April 14. [Class 146 (iii).] A fountain pen is provided with a feed-bar having a bore through which passes all the liquid supplied from the barrel to the nib and in which is inserted a cartridge containing an ink dye so arranged that the liquid flowing from the barrel comes into contact with the dye to form the ink. The ink dye is carried in a cylindrical container 14 open at one end and having a series of apertures 15, the container being adapted to be inserted in a chamber in the feed-bar 8 with the apertures beneath a slot 12 serving as the ink-feed duct. A narrow passage 11 leads through the end of the feed-bar to permit the passage of water from the reservoir, which is in the form of a collapsable sac for self-filling purposes, to the ink container. A projection 16 is formed on the container for engagement by the finger nail to facilitate removal. A storage channel for refill containers is provided.
