376,215. Grinding. ETABLISSEMENTS METALLURGIQUES ET FONDERIES SOC. ANON., Moustier-sur-Sambre, Belgium. March 17, 1932, No. 8009. Convention date, March 17, 1931. [Class 60.] Bevelling; curved surfaces of mirrors, grinding.-In a machine for bevelling oval &c. glass plates, the plate is mounted on an oval table 2 movable in its own plane and rotated by a roller 5 engaging a flange 1 on the table, and pressed up to the flange by a weighted arm 12a. The plate is bevelled by a grinding- wheel 17 adjustably mounted above the table, and the flange 1 is pressed by the roller 5 against two abutment rollers 3, 4. The flange is set back from the edge of the table by an amount proportional to the radius of curvature of the edge of the table in order that the bevel may be uniform ; in a modified form, the table edge overhangs the flange about the whole periphery of the table. The table is of similar shape to the plate undergoing bevelling.
