Abstract

359,102. Gilled tubes for heat exchangers. SERCK RADIATORS, Ltd. and WAGNER, C. O., Warwick Road, Greet, Birmingham. Aug. 15, 1930, No. 24467. [Classes 64 (ii) and 64 (iii).] The tapered tubes b, Figs. 7 and 9, of a motor car, domestic, &c., radiator are provided with gills a. The gills may be secured to the tubes in a jig comprising slotted plates e, Figs. 10 and 11, spaced apart by thin plates f which accommodate the slotted gills, the plates being clamped together by bolts h and the tube pressed into the slots in the gills. The gilled tube is removed from the jig and dipped in a bath of solder. The slots may be provided with flanges d, Fig. 3. According to the Provisional Specification, the tubes may have parallel sides.
