Abstract
A heat exchanger comprises one or more rows of cylindrical heat exchange tubes (10) through which tubes flows the coolant liquid of a motor vehicle engine and over which flows a secondary heat exchange medium such as air, secondary heat exchange surfaces e.g. plate fins (12) being connected to the external surfaces of the tubes so as to conduct heat, and the tubes having an internal diameter of at most 6.7 mm. The tubes may be provided with inserts (e.g. twisted metal strips 28) serving to distribute the liquid flow in said tubes. <IMAGE>
