Hose pipes.-A hose for conveying fluids or fluid pressure consists of an inner tube a of tough rubber, a braided or open textile reinforcement b, a tube c of soft or adhering rubber, and an external textile wrapping d, the soft rubber c serving to key through the layer b on to the touch rubber a, and to adhere to the outer wrappings. Wire armour e, or an external woven or plaited jacket, or both, may be added. The wrapping d consists of windings of rubbered fabric or material cut on the bias, and the completed hose is vulcanized. Additional layers of soft rubber and textile wrapping may be provided.
