Concretes and mortars.-A composition to be applied to walls to give the appearance of stone consists of 50 per cent of freestone dust or other fine clean sand, 25 per cent of white cement, 20 per cent of silver sand, and 5 per cent of a compound containing hydrated lime, fat, and alkaline carbonates, the whole being mixed into a paste with a concentrated aqueous solution of “ oz. of sulphate of iron and 1 oz. of alum, to which “ pint of spirits of salt has been added.
