Abstract

Self-stripping electrical contact elements supported, in use, in insulating blocks of the connectors, comprise a rear end portion (21) in the form of a U-shaped beam having lateral walls (29) (30) which provide, by folding at (27) (28) and abutting at (31) (32), two supported transverse walls (22) (24). One wall 22 has an open ended slot which makes electrical contact with wire by stripping the insulation therefrom, the other wall 24 having a wider slot for gripping the insulation of the wire. Additional wire insulating gripping means may be provided (figure 6, not shown). <IMAGE>
