Abstract

The invention relates to a coupling for hoses and the like of flexible and/or yielding, preferably elastically yielding material such as plastics, rubber etc., comprising two components, of which a coupling element having a longitudinally extending through-flow passage, and a coupling sleeve which is capable and inserted into and withdrawn from the through-flow passage at one end of the coupling element. The coupling sleeve is made, at least at its inner end in the coupling, of an elastically yielding material and is also provided at this location with an internal, continuous annular bead of the same material having a smaller diameter than the outer diameter of the hose, the through-flow passage exhibiting an annular groove for receiving the inner end of the coupling sleeve in a sealing and locking engagement subsequent to its having been widened by insertion of the hose through said annular bead and by applying pressure in the hose.
