Two-stroke-cycle engines; driving-gear.- In a modification of the engine described in Specifications 30,086/13 and 4350/14, the exhaust ports f, g are closed, and the pump piston commences to deliver combustible mixture into the engine cylinder through the port i at the beginning of the compression stroke of the working piston c'. The sleeve b<1> and its attached pump piston b<2> commences its return stroke slightly in advance of the working piston, the pump piston completing its delivery stroke when the main piston is approximately at half-stroke. The remaining constructional features, shown in Fig. 11, and a method of inducing an auxiliary charge through the passage m' by the escaping exhaust gases, are described in Specification 30,086/13.
