Abstract

8630. Gill, H. A., [Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre, Soc. Anon.]. April 12. Breech actions, sliding breech-block.-Relates both to automatic and to non-automatic guns, and consists in mounting the breech-bolt 7, together with the firing-mechanism, on a removable trigger plate 1, shown separately in Fig. 6. The plate 1 is fixed to the breech frame by a tongue 6 at the rear and ribs 4 at the front, and is pressed rearwards by the recoilspring 10 to hold these parts in engagement with the frame. The plate may be also locked in position by the barrel 15 so that it can only be released after the removal of the barrel. The cartridge cases are ejected downwards through a slot 9 in the plate, and the operating- handle 8 of the bolt slides in this slot.
