Abstract

154,620. Maybach-Motorenbau Ges. Oct. 13, 1919, [Convention date]. Crank chambers are provided, in planes at rightangles to the crank-shaft axis, with internal cooling ribs which may extend throughout the entire length or a portion of the length of the casing. As shown in Fig. 1, internal ribs 2 and external ribs 3 are formed on a casing 1 having a sump to which the internal ribs 2 extend. Passages are formed in the ribs 2 to permit oil to reach the sump.
