Abstract

1488876 Packing carrier bags IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 20 Feb 1975 [12 March 1974] 10897/74 Heading A4T A unit for packing carrier bags as in claim 1 of Specification 1338934 comprises a generally horizontal packing surface 1 on to which bags 4 may be drawn from a support 9, the support 9 including a pin 11 which passes between edge folds of (6), (7), Fig. 3 (not shown), of front panels (5) of the bags (4) and through apertures 24 in back panels. Preferably a series of supports 9 is provided, each consisting of a block bearing a respective pin 11 and being supported in a frame 10. The surface 1 preferably includes a platform 2 which may be lowered and above which edge portions of the bags 4 may be retained by clamps 3.
