Abstract
1484326 Hydrocarbon dispersion TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 11 Nov 1974 [3 Dec 1973] 48620/74 Heading B1V [Also in Division E1] A dispersion of a hydrocarbon in an aqueous liquid comprises as surfactant a composition of (i) a first anionic surfactant which is a water-soluble salt of a petroleum sulphonate or of an alkyl or alkylaryl sulphonate where R is a linear or branched alkyl radical with 5-25 carbon atoms, X is a sulphamate radical and Y<SP>+</SP> is a monovalent cation, (ii) a second anionic surfactant which is a water soluble salt of a sulphated oxyalkylated alkanol or of a sulphated oxyalkylated alkylphenol where R' is as R above but with an alkyl radical of 5-20 carbon atoms, n is from 1 to 10 and Y<SP>+</SP> is as above, (iii) a nonionic surfactant which is a polyoxyalkylated alkanol or polyoxyalkylated alkyl phenol in which R"' or R"" is as R' above and n' is from 6 to 20, or (iv) a fatty acid mono- or di-alkanolamide where R" is as R' above, A is a hydroxyalkyl radical with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and A' is hydrogen or a hydroxyalkyl radical with 1 to 10 carbon atoms. The dispersion is used for recovering petroleum from a subterranean reservoir by injecting the dispersion into the reservoir from an injection well to a production well.
