Abstract

1473764 Controlling heating installations ATELIERS DE CONSTRUCTIONS ELECTRIQUES DE CHARLEROI 29 Aug 1975 [30 Aug 1974] 35738/75 Heading H2H In a method of controlling an electric heating installation comprising a storage heater AN and a radiator RJ, during DAY operation the storage heater is not supplied with electricity and the radiator is supplied if the temperature of the premises is below a minimum value or lower than a maximum value, during NIGHT operation the storage heater is supplied if the temperature of the premises is below the same or another maximum value and the radiator is supplied only if the temperature is below the minimum value, and an END OF NIGHT operation being initiated when a predetermined charge of the storage heater core is reached, the END OF NIGHT operation causing the radiator to change from NIGHT to DAY operation without interrupting the supply to the storage heater. A room thermostat TA closes a contact m when the ambient temperature is below the minimum value and closes contacts M1 M2 when the ambient temperature is below the maximum value. A time relay H closes a contact i 1 during NIGHT operation and a contact i 2 during DAY operation. A thermal probe SN located in the storage heater AN operates a relay RS to close contacts S1 S2 when the core temperature falls to 85-90% of its temperature when fully charged. The installation enables the storage heater AN to be fully charged at night (since the contact S1 short circuits the contact M1) even if the maximum ambient temperature is reached and allows the radiator RJ to be charged during the END OF NIGHT operation if the ambient temperature is below the maximum value.
