Abstract

The unit has an off peak thermal store and heater (1) and a directly heated convector (2) for boosting purposes. The input to the off peak heater (1) is controlled by a switch (4) operated by a time switch (8). At night a thermostat (3) with two contacts controls the off peak heater according to room temp. by one of its contacts (3a) and controls the booster convector at a slightly lower temp. through its other contact (3b). In the day position the time controlled switch (4) disconnects the supply from the off peak heater and puts the booster (2) under the control of a separate room thermostat (10). This makes is possible for the desired value to be set higher for the day than for the night.
