Abstract

1449948 Underwater observation craft G R LAUKIEN 6 Nov 1974 [13 Nov 1973] 48101/74 Headings B7A and B7S A ship 1 for underwater observation has two parallel outer hulls 2 rigidly connected together and a third hull 9 releasably secured between the outer hulls to form a trimaran. The third hull is in the form of a pressure-resistant submersible cabin with windows 11 for underwater observation. Hawsers 7, 8 connect the third hull to the two outer hulls and permit it to be lowered from and/or pulled along by the twinhull ship when released from it. Expandable fenders 22 or rods 27 receive the observation cabin when it is raised between the hulls.
