Abstract

1443743 Cutting inserts CUTANIT Ltd 18 July 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 34316/73 Heading B3B A reversible cutting insert 1 for a cutting tool is of substantially, equilateral triangular shape the cutting points 3 of the insert 1 being formed by the intersection of a side edge with an oblique face 4 formed in an adjacent side edge and extending over not more than half the width of the side edge to provide a cutting point having an included angle of greater than 60 degrees. The preferable included angle is 75 degrees. The top and bottom surfaces are provided with club breaker grooves 2. The oblique faces 4 provide in conjunction with the top and bottom surfaces subsidiary cutting edges 5.
