Abstract

1311238 Cable terminations INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 5 Oct 1971 [7 Oct 1970] 46262/71 Heading H2E A device for sealing and completely insulating the end of a high voltage cable, when the cable end is not to be connected to other devices, has a tapered conducting member 21. One end 23 of this is large and rounded. The other end 22 is of similar cross-section to the cable core. The conducting member 21 is surrounded, except at the narrow end, by a solid insulating block 24. In use, after the insulation 12 and conductive sheath 13 of the cable have been stripped back, the projecting end of the conducting member 21 is connected to the end 14 of the cable core by a clamp 30, fresh insulation 28 and a conducting sheath 29 are applied, and the whole is then sealed in a case 31.
