Abstract

1307677 Suspended vehicles MATTERSON Ltd 16 June 1970 [29 July 1969] 37920/69 Heading B7L [Also in Division B8] A suspended vehicle in the form of a hoist is adapted to run on flanges 57, 58 of a beam 56, and comprises a hoisting gear carriage 11 supported on the flanges by two trolley parts 42, 44 which are secured to the carriage in differently spaced positions to facilitate running of the carriage along beams of various sizes. Each trolley part comprises a cross beam 43, 45 carrying the trolley wheels 47, 49 and extending between end plates, each of which is provided with a row of apertures of size and spacing corresponding to a row of apertures 35 in an associated carriage end plate 28, whereby adjustable bolted connections between the carriage and trolley parts are facilitated. Each trolley wheel is adjustably mounted on its cross beam by use of either spacing washers or a screw adjuster 60 to facilitate adjustment of the trolley spacing to a finer degree than is provided by the bolted connections. Each trolley part includes a pair of wheels, one pair of which are driven by a motor 55 to propel the carriage along the beam. The lifting apparatus on the carriage includes a pulley block 13 supported in the bight of a cable 15a extending between a motor driven drum 15 and a pulley 12, the cable being guided on to the drum by a guide 32.
