Abstract

1358092 Railway bogies CREUSOT-LOIRE 3 Aug 1971 [3 Aug 1970] 36481/71 Heading B7L In order that the load supported by a double railway bogie assembly comprising two four axle bogies connected by a load support can be positioned as low as possible on the assembly, each bogie has a frame 1 below the level of the axles which does not participate in the transmission of vertical loads and a combination of two sets of two first compensators or equalizers 5, 5<SP>1</SP> supported on axle boxes 3 of the axles, of which each set supports a cross-member 6, and of two second compensators 7, 7<SP>1</SP> supported on the said cross-members 6, the load support comprising a platform 9 supported by ball joints or resilient systems 13, 13<SP>1</SP> at the centres of the two second compensators 7, 7<SP>1</SP> of one bogie and a pivot 14 attached to a transverse third compensator 15 which is supported at its ends at the centres of the second compensators of the other bogie, all contacts between second and third compensators being by resilient or ball joint systems. The platform 9 comprises between the two bogies where it is lowest, a cross member 176 provided at its centre with a spherical pivot bearing 17 which receives a spherical pivot 19 fixed to a cradle 18 forming the load support proper, Fig. 4 (not shown), the cradle having at its edges balancing shoes (20), (20<SP>1</SP>) to balance the load on the platform.
