Abstract

1,221,356. Spring drum apparatus SKI-EZE Inc. 19 June, 1968, No. 29170/68. Heading B8B. A device for retrieving a water ski tow rope released by a skier's hand H, comprises a spring drum arrangement 10 attached to the rope 12 and a retrieving line 46 coupling the skier's body to a reel 44 associated with a constant torque spiral spring 38 of the arrangement 10. The latter comprises a casing 26 housing a spring storage drum 32 on which the spring 38 is freely stored in its formed spiral, and a spring wind-up drum 40 integral with the reel 44 and on to which the spring 38 is reversably wound during pay-out of the retrieving line 46. One end of the spring 38 is anchored at 42 to the drum 40 which has a diameter larger than that of the drum 32.
